This week we are more than delighted to introduce to you all our Vendor of the week; Sebastian of Ca Croustille! His partner Boubakr run their local (AMAZING…like really, really amazing) French Pasty business from Burnaby.
I caught up with Ca Croustille to chat about the business and learned that Sebastian and Boubakr wake up in the wee hours of the am (way before most of us even imagine getting out of our comfy beds!) to begin baking their yummy pasties fresh each day. Their favorite and always anticipated list of goodies includes Apricot Tarts, Chaussons aux Pommes, Cinnamon Rolls, Blueberry & Lemon Danish and (my holy moly – to die for fave) croissants; the double baked almond chocolate variety…yes PLEASE!!
While chatting with Sebastian, who is passionate about his pastries and an all around great guy to be around found out these facts;
- Ca Croustille has just celebrated it’s first anniversary (so congratulation you guys!!)
- Sebastian has been baking for 4 years.
- Boubakr has been baking for 12 years.
- They only sleep on Mondays.
- Next year Ca Croustille will introduce bread to their menu…yesssssss!!
