LCFMS YOUTH ZONE
Sponsored by the Township of Langley Community Grant Program
At the Market we seek to inspire the next generation of local food producers and artisans in our community. The ‘Youth Zone’ sponsored by a Township of Langley Community Grant is a vocal point for young people to engage with the market and our local food producers and artisans. It takes many forms – from basic scavenger hunts, face painting, crafts and mini educational classes to Young Entrepreneurs selling their creations to the public.
If you are interested in applying for a spot to sell your products that you make, make or grow and are under the age of 18 please visit our website at www.lcfm.ca and apply today! We provide the tent, table and chairs for all young entrepreneurs that get accepted to sell at the market under the program. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook for updates on our weekly activities and programs offered at each market. Educational events for the 2018 season will be posted early May 2018. If you wish to book a field trip please email the market at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 6040-445-2364.
LCFMS FOOD RECOVERY PROGRAM LAUNCHES IN MAY 2017
The Langley Community Farmers Market is proud to announce the launch of our Food Recovery Program. A team of food waste Crusaders and market staff will be launching this project at the end of May. Every Wednesday food will be collected by a team of volunteers from farmers vending at the market. The food will then be redirected to a variety of charities within our organization. The farmers will in turn receive tax credits from the government for the donations — We accept donations from market shoppers as well, please visit the donation station at the market and ask for more info on how you can get involved.
